XXXIII: An Interview with Maggie
Well, the last update was quite popular, I must say. And since here in the northeast about fourteen inches of rain is falling per hour (at least it appears that way out the picture window...maybe it's time to clean the gutters), what better way to pass the time to bring you the 2nd of three special interviews with the Watson kids. Today, it's Margaret Grace, just 5 days before her fourth birthday.
ME: Hey, Maggie, I'm going to interview you, come here
MAGGIE: What interview mean?
ME: I'm going to ask you questions.
MAGGIE: What kind questions?
ME: I don't know, like what is your favorite movie?
MAGGIE: Barbie Mermadia!!
ME: What's it about?
MAGGIE: Melenia is going to eat the berries to get her wings. Massoura comes to Melenia's house to ask Dandelion something. Um, the fungi go to Maverna's house to eat the berries. Melenia go back to her house and Pebble and I think Peony go under the water I think she didn't go home with Melenia and Pebble. What's your favorite movie?
ME: I'll ask the questions. What are you wearing?
MAGGIE: Um, wings. Dad, look it's raining faster now out there!
ME: Is it part of a costume?
MAGGIE: It's part of the fairy costume I got for my birthday at Applebee's. At my birthday party. I had my party, I went to a birthday party at build a bear. Libby and Brenna and Molly and Caroline were there. My bear is Tinkerbell and Annie she got Cinderella bear see look she is over there and she is brown. Matches your freckles! I want to go to Jimmy's room and Jimmy told me go away.
ME: Did you get presents at your party?
MAGGIE: No, I got the presents at the mall at Applebee's I got cake wif it and a Barbie toy and the queen is mean with her striped blanket and she can sit on the bench. I got it on my cake. Um, yes, I got ballerina Barbie and clothes and a Barbie car in the mail yesterday
ME: That was today right?
MAGGIE: Yes, today that’s what I said. From aunt Mary Jo and Megan do you like Barbie's? What kind of Barbie's? Barbie, magic of Pegasus, Barbie mermaidia (not a typo there...Maggie was asking and answering that question)
ME: How old are you?
MAGGIE: Four. I turned four at my party (Maggie turns four on the 27th; her party was the 20th)
ME: What else have you been doing this summer?
MAGGIE: I go to music camp Monday with miss Liz! It's going to be much fun. Um, going to the simming pool and
ME: Tell me about the pool
MAGGIE: My favorite part is jumping on the stairs on the big kid pool that was fun me and Libby jumped. What are your favorite wings? What color are your wings Dad?
ME: I don’t have wings
MAGGIE: Yes you do, boys have wings too
ME: What else are you doing this summer? Just the pool?
MAGGIE: Yes, that is it. Next week I'm going to grandma's house.
ME: I think she is coming here in 2 weeks
MAGGIE: Yep, and she will like my wings and jump to the sky and jump over here and jump to the footstool! Dad, what color are your socks? White? Yes white, what color is your hat? Lelo?
ME: What is your favorite thing to eat?
MAGGIE: Pizza and noodles. Yes that is my favorite. Leaves are not my favorite. Leaves are for birds to eat that’s why birds are hungry and eat leaves. I need to fix my wings, they are hurting me on my freckles. Mom, I want you to hold my wand, I want to ask you question.
ME: What about school?
MAGGIE: I'm going to Jimmy's school with him. I will be in 2nd grade!
ME: What?
MAGGIE: Oh, pre-K 4 I mean. I'm in pre-K 4!! I eat cheerios and life and cookies and cereal and you can eat crackers those are like cereal that's my favorite food to eat at my house I'm going to get them at the grocery tomorrow.
ME: Which grocery?
MAGGIE: The A&P so I can get them at the grocery those are yummy and those are my favorite to eat. Mom I need my wand back. I can run so I can fly. Hey Dad what is your favorite color of wand; red, purple, or gray, or black?
ME: Blue.
MAGGIE: Ok. I'll be right back ok? (Maggie takes off down the hallway)
(2 minutes and 47 seconds later....)
MAGGIE: I'm back Dad, I can jump and get on the chair with you. (Sigh), I can jump and sit on him like the angel baby, he is so cute. Hey Mom look I have pink wings. What goes on the wings? Mrs. Schalago made them at her house for my birthday!
REEGE: Actually Mrs. Murphy made those
MAGGIE: Oh. Are you not talking to me Dad? What are you typing? I'm an angel. I'm a fairy! It's not raining anymore. Too crazy, I need my wand. Bye.
MAGGIE: Here I am, again. Mom why are you tired? I can't sit on the coach because of my wings.
ME: That's all for now, see you next time.
